After watching the original Ironclad film a few years ago I decided I would watch this film Now onto the rest of it: The script, I can not really comment on as not much was said in the film The filming techniques: every so often the screen would shake quite violently for no apparent reason The plot: an hour and a half of death?

How the heck do you have a serious battle, let alone a siege, without a single bow and arrow? Just a few bows and the siege would have been over in minutes.

This was a Norman castle, with archer crenelations, but no bows! Even the most ignorant, brain addled peasant can use a bow, and had done so ever since the stone age!

And yet someone managed to build a siege engine, apparently without the ability to launch those fiery twigs which could only be thrown by hand I still enjoyed it though.

Overall this is a lost opportunity to make decent movie. Clearly the writers get lost in the cliches of current film making, but its only little thins initially.

The writers display an understanding of the issues of the times they are writing off , but clearly want to present something familiar to their audience.

Cousin comes back to defend Uncles castle, gets some abuse from old flame, defends castle, and it all ends in the most implausible way possible This was unnecessary.

The combat scenes are very well done, and the acting is rather good, just needed more intellectual rigour in the overall control of the whole thing.

This storybook had all the necessary content to be a good entertaining production. Unfortunately there were to many obvious errors in it to allow a generous or better review to be made.

The Actual events seemed slow in places needing more speed and fast in areas needing more time spent on them. The Costume department needed more than a little help to be unnoticeably poor.

Some character castings were well performed. A great shame the basic idea was good but not much else. Some great actors making the best of a poor script and poor direction.

Great potential lost. Ok to watch with friends whilst enjoying some JD but don't sit down expecting anything like the first Ironclad.

No where near as good. With me living in NE England right on the borders, I know what a proper castle is supposed to be The whole castle design was awful.

Even the stairs go the wrong way They are supposed to spiral clock-wise on the way up. This is so that when under siege, should foes enter the castle the staircase can easily be defended as the majority of people fought with their right hand so the easier and more powerful attacks with the sword comes from the defender further up the stairs , these ones goes anti clockwise giving the advantage to the attacker.

The CGI in this is terrible. Also the shaky-cam is on overload throughout the film. I would highly recommend NOT watching this if you like the first Ironclad.

As you will be very displeased. The plot was weak and the number I was really looking forward to this movie, having seen the first Ironclad film and enjoyed it.

The plot was weak and the number of times the young son and the two daughters stood open mouthed, gaping at things was extremely annoying.

The good part was the fight scenes, but the plot was awful and without giving away any spoilers, the ending was odd and would never have happened after all the hatred and battle.

It left me feeling empty and irritated. Waste of time and money. Very poor. I see it as nothing but a graduation project for cinema students.
